Crusaders in the News
We have a lot going on at Grace Lutheran School. Check here for the latest news and announcements. We’re always happy to share good news!
Our caring Crusader family has chosen to reach out to those who are in need due to the effects of Hurricane Florence. While there is nothing we can do to replace the lives that have been lost due to this storm, we can send our chapel offerings to help those who have lost property (homes, cars, livestock, and businesses). We also support them through prayer as they work toward recovery.
We are thankful to announce that Thrivent will partner with us in this endeavor by matching all the chapel offerings that we raise until October 17, up to $1,000,000. We will double our efforts to help the victims of Florence!
God has certainly blessed us, and we can share that by being a blessing to others in their time of need. What a wonderful caring Crusader family we have here at Grace Lutheran School!
T-shirts that were ordered are on their way, but we had to back order some which has caused a delay. When they arrive, we will send them out to our families that ordered shirts. Watch for an announcement about a new order that will be coming out soon for cold weather shirts and jackets.
Fall pictures are on Tuesday, September 25 through Thursday, September 27. Watch for more information coming soon. Dress your best, and be ready to smile!
It's time for our Box Tops contest! The class that turns in the most Box Tops by October 25 will win a prize. This is a wonderful way to raise money for Grace Lutheran School. Several schools in Huntsville and Madison County earn between $2,500 and $5,000 a year from Box Tops. We sent home Box Top flyers with each student. You may send any extra Box Tops in a Ziploc bag. We received several bags of Box Tops at the end of last school year, we will credit these to the student’s current class.
We are currently looking for library and lunch volunteers! Check out the details below and contact us today.
Library volunteer hours are on Wednesdays from 12:35 to 3:00 p.m. and Fridays from 1:05 to 2:45 p.m. The teachers can use your help while they have their classes in the library. They especially need help during Wednesday and Friday. Please contact the school office if you can help.
Lunch volunteer hours are on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We have a lot of fun preparing lunch for all the kids! Come join us! If you can help one (or more) of these days, let us know in the school office.
Please don’t forget to email your teacher or the school office early in the day to let us know if your child will be absent. We also have pre-excused absences if you know in advance that your child will need to miss school. Students can make up schoolwork and tests only if they have an excused absence. If you have any questions, be sure to ask your teacher or contact us in the school office by calling (256) 881.0553 or sending us an email.
Keep collecting your bottle caps! We will announce the first of several contests soon. Collect plastic bottle caps (the kind that screw on), count them, bag and label them with your student’s name, and then bring them in to school. There will be a contest each month with a prize for the class who collects (and counts) the most. It’s a lot of fun and benefits the environment as well as your child’s school. Thank you for your support!
