food pyramid

There are three basic parts to the web quest:
Students spend a week evaluating their own eating habits by keeping track of what they have eaten at every meal for a week and about how much they have eaten
Students are placed in groups where they organize themselves into the various experts and begin their assigned tasks.
Finally the students work together to present their version of the information gathered in their quest to then produce their slide show.
The quest should take about two weeks to complete. The first week should not take any class time as the students are simply filling out their log of what they are eating for the week.
Actual class time should be around 5 class periods depending upon availability of computers. You would need two class periods to work on the research two class periods to work on the slide show and one or two for presentations.
Evaluate your own eating habits for one week and keep of log of what you ate at each meal. If you did not eat anything at the meal indicate this. Also list all of the food you ate that was not part of one your meals such as all of your snacks.
The group decides which person in the group will be responsible for which meal
Each student should study the food pyramid to find out what is involved in good nutrition
The expert for each meal will plan a menu for a person between the ages of 12 and 14 who has very limited physical activity. (Sorry but three hours of moving your thumbs on a video game controller does not count.)
Each expert will do the following
The whole group will produce a power point program that will include the following information:
At the end of the quest students will need to hand in a copy of
