Have you heard the phrase "Everything I need to know I learned in Kindergarten." This sums up a great year of learning at Grace Lutheran Kindergarten. The children spend the first 4-6 weeks of school getting to know each other and what learning as a team is all about. We do many hands on and relational activities that foster understanding of basic skills, such as recognizing letters, numbers, shapes, colors, etc.; speaking letter sounds and counting aloud; practicing social etiquettes and problem solving; and we can't forget pre-writing and drawing. The classroom is a rich environment of visual and hands-on learning with use of the SmartBoard, Interactive Centers, and the Science Lab. With all this activity, the children are excited to be challenged, therefore we are able to see the children reading and understanding simple sentences by the end of Kindergarten. It is very exciting to read the children's stories that go along with their illustrations also. Come check us out! We would love to have your child join our team!
