Dress Code
Grace Lutheran School has adopted the following dress code policy (this policy is also available in PDF format *). Our Board of Education approved the wearing of the items on this dress code list, but did not make it mandatory. We are very appreciative of your attempts to comply with our school dress. For those who choose to omit "uniforms", follow Friday's directive.
Shirts are to be tucked in and belts are encouraged.

Definition of Terms used Below:
- Logos: Only 3 acceptable - Crusader, Grace Lutheran Church cross with dove, GLS with cross
- Plaid: Only #57 is acceptable (view image sample) available at Educational Outfitters in Madison
- Plain: No decorations; No extra pockets
Unacceptable Clothing:
- Leather
- Spandex
- Baggy low-rider pants
- Tight-fitting
- Revealing clothing
- Slogans/writing or off-beat decorations
- Flip flops
- High heels
- Shoes with rollers
- Cowboy boots
Non-Uniform Days:
Fridays are non-uniform days: denim may be worn; Nothing on the "Unacceptable" list may be worn

Clothing Vendors
For standard slacks, shirts, skirts, without logos, check JC Penney, Target, Sears, K-Mart, Wal-mart, Belk, etc., as well as the Steve and Barry's store at Madison Square Mall! We are looking for carriers for our logos.
On-line, many places offer discount school uniforms. Google that! We liked the looks of "French Toast" for Junior sizes.
Grace has set up agreements with the following vendors for purchasing clothing that conforms to the school dress code:

They are currently offering a 10% discount sale to Grace Lutheran parents until the end of July 2008 (see flyer *). Logos for shirts will not be available until August. Parents can backorder shirts and they will be logoed when the logo is available (during June and July, these backordered shirts will be shipped to your home for free). All other store items (pants, shorts, skirts, peter pan blouses, skorts) do not have a logo and parents can purchase them and take home.

Land's End
Land's End is a catalog and online clothing retailer. Grace is a member of their Preferred School program! If you supply our Preferred School Number when ordering with them, a portion of the sale will be given back to the school. We've even picked out a number of Land's End products that conform to the policy.
