Donna BehnkenGrade: 2nd Grade Degree: B.A. Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois; MEd Alabama A&M University Responsibilities: Director of Camp & Club Invention, Coordinate News Club Past Experience: Kindergarten, Director of Education (both in Montgomery), at Grace - grade 2, grade 1, grades 1&2, art, past asst. director of Summer Camp, cheerleading coach; 34 years at Grace, 2 years in Montgomery; Member of Lutheran Education Association; Member of Lutheran Church Missouri Synod's Southern District's Parish Education Committee and Chair of the Schools Committee; member of Board of Regents of Concordia College, Selma, Alabama Besides the regular curriculum I teach a unit involving the hatching of chickens and ducks, a unit on butterflies beginning with caterpillars, and a 2-week unit on Native Americans based on children's literature on Native Americans. The 2nd Graders go on a trip to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens and to the Birmingham Zoo each year. Other trips are arranged as the year goes on. |
